Saturday and My Head Hurts

by James on Jan.28, 2007, under Bootcamp

The saga continues…..

After a massive four hours sleep because by the time I sort out my papers and my mind stops buzzing, its 11.00p.m in Atlanta ( I have to be up to tend to home matters like speaking to my lovely wife Rose and making sure Josh is OK - we are plus five hours in the UK, so its a three am call !)

At 7.25 a.m. Captain Jim Edwards kicks off the day with some Philosophising about his life and his dreams and how we should create our own paths, all very insightful and personal and giving us a small glimpse of Jim’s psyche.

Then it was straight down to business with Dr. Jeanette Cates, the Technology Tamer. Dr. J. went through the benefits and practical ways of hosting your own seminar. Very comprehensive and well delivered; we’ll be hearing a lot more of the good Doctor in 2007.

The we had a minor crisis; one of our presenters, David Hancock was due to tell us all about publishing real books,  but unfortuntately was taken ill and spent Friday night in hospital.

Best wishes for a speedy recovery, David; I spoke to you briefly and was really looking forward to your presentation
At this spot sharp minds ruled and Jim and Mike decided to film the very first LIVE Online Business Show - about publishing books. Interviewing David’s colleague Jim Howard, Director of Operations at Morgan James Publishing revealed that this company are about to corner the market on the entrepreneurial online press, with a very refreshing outlook on the way publishing should be done. After Jim came a real-life case from the audience, and boy was she sharp - forgive me ma’am I didn’t write down your full name, the story was just too good - she even showed Jim how to improve HIS book. Next month’s OBS DVD will be a blast.

After coffee (and JE’s special method of making sure his audience are in their seats before the speaker starts) we were introduced to Business Builder Rich Schefren whose Internet Business Manifesto and Missing Chapter publications made us all look good and hard at the way we structure and run our businesses, emphasising that we need to understand systems to build a proper business. Rich’s pedigree is impeccable and the session just zipped.

Next up was the guy who polled the internet community about whether to wear a beard or not…. yep you’re right it’s Armand Morin, software creator, marketer, affiliate builder extraordinaire, who admitted that despite his huge stable of software products, he can’t code, but he knows quite a few people that can…… He was going to be a pro Hockey player, but decided to give up that dream because he can’t skate. Great stuff from Armand,

Last but not least was Yanik Silver, copywriting king, whose wife helped him work on his image by deftly throwing out his Jim and Mike Hawaiian shirt collection. His Prada shoes were the shiniest I’ve seen, courtesy of the shoeshine guy down in the Westin lobby. If you need to get in on the next hot product, get in on Yanik’s Compost Secrets site - he’ll love you for this…… Ten pages of notes on Yanik’s section and I still missed LOADS.

And then it was Bootcamp 1 wind-up time where Jim revealed something that will really shake up the ‘net and Internet Marketing. Can’t reveal what it was cause he’d have to kill me, but watch out in your emails for something BIG. Especially if you are one of the TNR subscribers. (Jim - where’s my affiliate link???)

Well its five a.m. and its time to go get ready for the Chris Z and Jim E experience day then straight back to the UK.

BIG BIG thank you for the team effort that went into this great event. If you missed it you will be able to experience it soon on DVD…and my copy is ordered.

To those I met and spoke to at the Seminar - may your way be filled with happiness and prosperity, to those I didn’t, then  next time we’ll catch up.

I burned up almost a full A4 notebook on this Bootcamp and two pens;  my wrist aches and my head is so full of information that I’ll need a week to organise it and write it all down again.

Atlanta Brainstorm

by James on Jan.27, 2007, under Bootcamp

Blimey!

Content overload again courtesy of Jim Edwards and his friends in Atlanta. Anybody who missed this must be kicking themselves. Here I am jet-lagged and shell shocked at the amount of information coming my way. These guys (and gals) rock! Respect to all so far: each presentation has been an absolute gem.

Todays Roll Call:

Stephen Pierce telling us all how we can make it despite our challenges and make it big (speaking of Big did you know he’s just bought a 12000 yes thousand square foot home in Texas!!!)

Chris Zavadowski telling us its really cool not to work that hard and how he makes life easy by automation and outsourcing. Also doing a fine job on winding up Jim -way to go Chris! Can’t wait for the full day Sunday session with Chris and Jim.

Next up was Sydney Johnston telling us all about her amazing ebay traffic generation techniques, as well as her system for getting Jim Edwards to sort out her IT problems onstage. Sydney is delightfully anarchic and likes to tell it how it is.

Duke Clarke, longtime mentor to Jim, told us how we needed to acquire the Prosperity Mindset, and most importantly Why we need to do it. Very deep and profound Duke, not to mention emotional.

Sharp-shooter Ryan Deiss had us all burning up the pages trying to get his ideas onto paper. I’m thinking about starting a class action for RSI! (Only jesting mate - it was AWESOME. His topic of Building Big Lists was phenomonal; identifying strategies and systems that you couldn’t imagine. And he was big enough to admit that even experts can get it wrong, referring to a less than perfect campaign recently that bombed in a big way.

Marlon Sanders provided both the dessert, cheese and biscuits and the coffee (probably the after dinner mints and brandy, too). He is so funny, so anarchic that you don’t realise that what he is telling you is pure gold. His take on Affiliate Marketing was absolutely the best; video this guy in action Jim - he’s the Monty Python of Internet Marketing. Make sure you get the right classification on the DVD though!

To round off a very long day, we had the Bootcamp Thinktank session where all of these guys including Dr. Jeanette Cates,(who speaks Saturday) Jim Edwards and Mike Stewart giving us the benefit of their multimillion dollar experiences in a great Q and A session that had to be stopped at 9.00pm - it could have run all night!

Amazing and all respect to the team for an unbleievably good day.

Its four in the morning and I have to get smartened up for todays Bootcamp, otherwise Captain Jim will kick butt.

You should see the line-up!!!

Stay posted.

The Year of Change

by James on Jan.25, 2007, under Bootcamp

 Where’s my bed?

23 hours door to door and I’m raring to go at my first ever US Internet Bootcamp, hosted by the ubiquitous Captain Jim Edwards and his stellar crewmates.

Made it with ten minutes to spare for the first seminar with Internet Audio (and Video) Guy Mike Stewart spilling the beans on podcasting and video blogging. Phenomonal.

What this guy doesn’t know about audio and video probably isn’t worth knowing anyway. (And he said he would check out my DV cam on his video capture software too!)

The hors d’oeuvres were perfect, bring on the plat du jour.

 Is your mouth watering yet?

Don’t you wish you came?
